Tips for More Efficient Packing

Moving can be an arduous task but doing the packing right makes everything a lot easier and a lot less stressful. There are several tips you should consider while you are packing your stuff in order to make sure that it will go as smoothly as possible. Packaging supplies should be used in a smart way and here are some tricks to do that.

1. Appropriate boxes.

Heavy objects should be packed in boxes that are perfectly matching in size instead of stuffing them in big boxes with a ton of padding. Those boxes get dropped a lot more often since they are hefty. Lighter things such as linen, clothes, and other small objects can be placed in big boxes. Space will be filled up without it become too cumbersome.

2. Placement in the box.

It should be common knowledge that cumbersome and chunky objects should always be put on the bottom. If the item is unique to you or has an awkward shape, then place smth soft on the bottom such as a sweatshirt of linen and then fill the rest of the space with light objects. Heavy objects on the underside will ground the box and prevent it from falling over.

3. Use the entire space

Even if you have each box dedicated to a particular type of stuff you should not allow that from preventing you from packing smarter. It is very nice to have each type of things in the same place, but when you have a crevice, you can fill up - do it. It does save space at the end, and it also serves as padding for the other objects. Security above all else.4. Organize according to rooms

If you want to add organization to packing your stuff to make unpacking easier, then organize them in boxes according to what room they will go in. If you mix, then do it to make packing more secure.

5. Put appropriate labels

Put names for what room the box is for. Add short descriptions as well regarding the contents of the box. If you have had to mix places, make a note of that as well.

6. Be generous on the tape

Use more tape on the centers and where the stress is on the box is concentrated. Have a technique when using you packaging supplies to ensure the safety of the boxes and the contents.

7. Bundle all breakable objects

Dishes, glasses, vase, and so on are fragile, so they require bundling to survive the move. You can use paper and newspapers, but you could also use clothes and linen. Stuff vases and glasses with ample amounts of cloth and wrap dishes in soft material as well. Use up all of the space in the box to make sure that nothing will be moving around during the drive in the moving truck and while carrying the boxes.

8. Consider items with special needs

TVs and other screens should be transferred in wooden crates which are padded well on the inside. Art is also something that requires special attention. If you have an expensive painting or it is simply dear to you heart, then you should ask the moving company for special packaging and careful moving. And remember that each kid of painting requires a special way of packaging.
